Housing Finance Specialist. in Augusta, ME

Full-time, DIRECT HIRE opportunity! Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm.
This position is primarily responsible for processing Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contract renewals, producing monthly reports for HAP payments, and reviewing and analyzing audited financial statements and operating budgets that have been submitted.
Functions:
Administer the HAP contract renewal process
Provide guidance to owner, managers and/or internal staff on the provisions in the
Section 8 renewal guide
Determine if renewal option chosen is consistent with guidelines
Coordinate with parties on timelines for completing renewals
Review audited financial statements for properties in multi-family portfolio
Review Section 8 and Rental Loan Program projects for compliance
Review A-133 audits for non-profit entities
Meet project deadlines
Periodic field audit activities
Review budgets for Section 8 and Rental Loan Program projects
Prepare monthly payment report to Owners and Finance Dept.
Process monthly subsidy vouchers and special claims as needed
Work with HUD and Owners when HAP funds are delayed
Requirements
Two good employment references; Comparable experience; HS Diploma or equivalent; Strong financial analysis skills; ability to understand and interpret regulatory doc's and State and Fed statutes and regulations; excellent project and time management and organizational skills; working knowledge of MS Office; robust communication skills.
