Description
Excellent opportunity to help others grow their businesses. You will be educating and counseling business clients to help them qualify for government contracts. Love helping others grown their business? Our client will train the right candidate in the government contracting aspects.

Once trained, you will be guiding businesses through the process of finding, bidding, and performing on government contracts and subcontracts (with the Department of Defense, other US federal agencies, Native American Tribal governments, state and/or local governments, and prime government contractors.)

One fun part is developing and delivering workshops on specific topics of interest in government procurement.

You will also develop and maintain relationships, to assist your clients, with US Federal, Maine Native American Tribal, state and local government agencies and prime contractors, as well as with other business resource providers throughout the region.
And of course, you will be maintaining many reports and records to be in compliances.
Requirements
Must bring:

-A positive, professional and collaborative attitude
-Possess and exhibit the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity.
-Position requires frequent travel within Maine; current valid Maine driver’s license, safe driving record and reliable transportation are required.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field, or the equivalent in education and closely-related work experience, required.
-Prefer at least one year of business counseling experience; experience in Federal government contracting or program management, either within government, private industry or a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), preferred.
-Prior experience working with Native American tribes preferred. Strong desire to work in Native American communities is essential.
-Strong business counseling and problem-solving skills.
-Strong computer proficiency, in office software, especially in word processing and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word), Internet and related programs required.
-Organization and time management skills and abilities.
-Strong communications skills, verbal and written required.
-Native American ancestry preferred.
-Meet background check requirements.
