Counsel in Augusta, ME
Description
Full-time, Direct Hire! Gold-level Benefit package. Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Core functions:

Transactional work - assist developers, investor, loan officers and other partners in closing complex transactions for affordable multi-family and supportive housing projects; prepare and negotiate closing documents-loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, security agreements, declarations of covenants and tax credit documents; review/negotiate other forms of security, including purchase and sale agreements, construction and bonding agreements, conveyance documents, title insurance materials, surveys, and organizational document; conduct closings and oversee post-closing issues; assist with ownership transfers, workouts, loan restructuring and refinancing.

Bond Work - Work with the Treasurer and bond counsel to complete due diligence, prepare and negotiate bond sale documents and ensure regulatory compliance.

General - As needed review correspondence and documents; research state and federal regulations and consult with state and federal agencies; advise Director and staff on legal issues such as regulatory compliance, contract law, commercial law, litigation, and real estate law; draft and negotiate contracts and other documents; represent Client in agency administrative hearings, Maine Human Rights Commission hearings and litigation on occasion as necessary.

Some in-state and out-of-state travel may be required; some telework may be available.

Salary: $115K
Requirements
JD degree and Maine Bar License; Real estate, commercial lending, affordable housing, public sector, or an appropriate combination of education and work experience. Two employment references
Front Desk Administrator - Legal in Waterville, ME
Description
We are seeking a professional and reliable Front Desk Administrator to join our client’s busy legal office. The ideal candidate will be the welcoming face of their firm, ensuring clients feel at ease while managing essential administrative tasks. The typical schedule is Monday thru Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. Dress code is business casual. Starting pay is $20-$22 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
• Answer and direct phone calls promptly and courteously
• Perform typing and data entry tasks with accuracy
• Prepare documents using word processing skills
• Create/maintain physical files
• Provide administrative support as needed

Requirements
• Proven experience in a reception or front desk role.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Adobe for PDF files
• Legal experience ideal, but not required
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mature work ethic
